Downloading software is proof of file sharing - RIANZ

By: Adam Walker | New Zealand News | Thursday January 31 2013 11:01

RIANZ believes as soon as illegal uploaders download file sharing software, there's proof they're deliberately uploading content.

The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand has heralded a milestone with an illegal uploader being fined under the Sky-net anti-piracy legislation, by the Copyright Tribunal.

Another 6,000 warning letters have been issued around the country.

Managing director, Chris Caddick says it takes effort to share content.

He says it's a deliberate act to download a piece of software which enables peer-to-peer file sharing.
