PM non-committal on gay marriage law

By: Rachel Jackson-Lees | New Zealand News | Monday July 30 2012 19:30

The Prime Minister's not quite committing to support gay marriage legislation all the way into law.

John Key says he will vote for the Bill at it's first reading.

"What happens beyond there will be a matter of assessing the merits of the arguments but I am certainly not ruling out voting for it all the way."

The issue's a live political topic with Labour MP Louisa Wall's Member's Bill amending the Marriage Act set to be debated in Parliament.
