BOP residents support athletes in London

| New Zealand News | Sunday August 5 2012 6:34

A group of Bay of Plenty residents are in London to support Olympians from their home towns.

They've had black singlets specially printed with the names Hanlen, Carrington, Walker, JP Tobin and Black Sticks on the backs.

One of the group, Nick Everitt says they'll be going to watch Whakatane's Lisa Carrington in the canoe sprints.

"Lisa went to school with us but apart from that we've just thrown a few Bay of Plenty names on our backs to show our support," Everitt says.

Nick Everitt says a few of them will stay on in London after the Games.
