PM's house goes under hammer in fake auction

By: Jacqui Stanford | New Zealand News | Saturday July 7 2012 19:17

John Key's Parnell mansion has sold for tens of millions of dollars - in toilet paper currency.

Asset sales protestors have held a mock auction outside the Auckland property this afternoon, complete with fake $100 bills printed on loo roll.

They say if the Prime Minister thinks he can sell assets New Zealanders own, they'll sell his mansion.

Aotearoa Is Not For Sale spokeswoman Miriam Pierard says protestors are determined.

"Even if they don't listen, we're going to continue to show them that we are not going to stop voicing our opinions and we are going to do everything we can to put an end to this."
