Name released of man killed in Te Puke collision

Police have released the name of a Paengaroa man who was killed in a collision near Te Puke yesterday afternoon.

A Ford coupe hot rod collided head-on with a truck on State Highway Two at Pongakawa.

The driver and sole occupant of the hot rod was killed instantly.

He was 64-year-old Kevin Carran.

The truck driver was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries and his passenger suffered minor leg injuries.
