Crafar working on options to buy back farms

By: Annabel Reid | New Zealand News | Sunday April 29 2012 9:02

Allan Crafar has confirmed he's working on a number of options in order to buy back his farms.

The former owner of the North Island farms, which have been approved for sale to Chinese consortium Shanghai Pengxin, has the right to take back the farms as long as he can repay the debt.

Mr Crafar says it's premature to discuss exactly how he plans to reclaim the farms, but he's working on ideas.

He says the best owners for the farms are the people who built them up in the first place.
