Our Defence Force is off to New Caledonia to hone its humanitarian aid and disaster relief skills with a number of other countries. The exercise starts tomorrow and is led by French Armed Forces New Caledonia and involves Papua New Guinea, Australia, Vanuatu, Tonga, New Zealand, the US, the UK and Canada. Some of our personnel will be attached to a French company and will assist with humanitarian aid, disaster relief and non-combatant evacuation tasks. It's hoped the exercise will enhance relationships with international Defence Forces. Photo: Getty Images |
