Applications to the Disputes Tribunal can be done online from October 1. Courts Minister Chester Borrows says the Tribunal is our most accessible forum for dealing with low level disputes, but until now, people had to fill in forms by hand and post them, or deliver them to the nearest District Court. He says that's not customer friendly, cost-effective or efficient. Changes are also being made to the way Disputes Tribunal referees are appointed and reappointed, to reduce the time and costs involved, and to attract a wider group of quality applicants.
