The Defence Force is standing by its new NH90 helicopters. A report has raised concerns about the machines, including whether or not they can be used in snow. It also found the NH90 is prone to damage from debris being sucked into its engines. Chief of Defence Lieutenant General Rhys Jones says in the past year, most of the issues have been resolved. He says the NH90 can best meet defence force requirements. As to the concerns about flying in snow, Lieutenant General Jones says the NH90 is flown in Scandinavian countries and concerns about cold weather have been addressed. Image: Yvette-McCullough |
