Aucklanders asked to be wise with water use

By: Newstalk ZB staff | New Zealand News | Friday March 15 2013 6:19

Aucklanders are being told to use water wisely.

The city's water supply is secure, but dam levels are just below average for this time of year, according to the New Zealand Herald.

Council-controlled organisation Watercare says it is unlikely that metropolitan Auckland will face water shortages, but if the dry weather continues through autumn, water could become an issue later in the year.

The water supply network is asking people to water the garden by hand instead of using a sprinkler system, only run a full load of washing, and turn the tap off while brushing your teeth.
