Facebook tips off police to upcoming fight

By: Lesley Deverall | New Zealand News | Friday August 17 2012 17:30

Police are monitoring chat amongst youths on Facebook suggesting a fight's being organised in Wanaka this weekend.

Senior Sergeant Allan Grindell says it seems to stem from a brawl a week ago at the local rugby club.

"We're not sure how serious it is but we're trying to be proactive here and just put the word out that between the Wanaka and Cromwell police that we won't be standing for any of this nonsense."
