New Zealand's Principal Family Court Judge says the Government needs to do more for children in need of state intervention.
Peter Boshier has made the call at a Public Health Association conference in Wellington.
He says proposed changes in a review of the Family Court lack sufficient focus on meeting the needs of children and achieving sustainable outcomes for families.
Judge Boshier says it mainly focuses on victims of parental disputes.
He says we can't lose focus on a responsibility to intervene on behalf of all children, including pre-birth kids, through to children who are abused.
