Tourism New Zealand's launched an elaborate campaign tied up with the upcoming Hobbit movies, designed to cash in on international interest, Lord of the Rings style. The 100 percent Middle-earth ad links the fantasy world of Middle-earth to the reality of travelling here. Tourism New Zealand chief executive Kevin Bowler says millions of people have seen The Lord of the Rings trilogy and millions more are expected to watch The Hobbit trilogy.
