Surgery for one-year-old following dog attack

A one-year-old girl has to undergo surgery after getting bitten by a dog.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon at a home in Dunedin.

City Council senior animal control officer Jim Pryde says the girl received facial injuries.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier has been put down today.
