Road delays north of Auckland

Motorists are being advised to allow for more time to travel between Northland and Auckland.

The New Zealand Transport Agency says there may be delays due to road works on State Highway One near Auckland and State Highway 12 in Northland.

Scheduled tomorrow is safety and maintenance checks of the toll road tunnels at Johnstones Hill and a six-hour long closure of State Highway 12 near Matakohe.

A diversion has been set up along rural roads but it could add another 15 minutes to a trip.
