Kiwis flock to web to raise concerns over proposed WoF changes

By: Juliette Sivertsen | New Zealand News | Monday October 8 2012 15:07

Kiwi motorists are flocking to the web to air their concerns over proposed changes to the warrant of fitness system.

The Government's Vehicle Licensing Reform has suggested reducing the frequency of when vehicles need to undergo warrants.

The Motor Trade Association believes it will see a rise in fatalities and injuries, and has launched a campaign to get people debating the issue, fronted by motorsport legend Greg Murphy.

MTA Spokesperson Ian Stronach says just days into the campaign, they have had thousands of visitors recording votes and comments.

He says most of those comments demonstrate New Zealanders view the issue seriously and are concerned about the changes.
