Trapped horses rescued

All eight horses in a transport truck which overturned in remote North Taranaki have survived the ordeal.

A Seaton Park horse transporting truck overturned and rolled down a bank.

Police say all the horses - including some about to foal - have now been removed from the truck and are fine.

The truck driver is in a moderate condition with a fractured leg.

He has been taken to Taranaki Base Hospital.
