Auckland Transport and Snapper Services part ways

By: Newstalk ZB staff | New Zealand News | Friday August 24 2012 17:18

Auckland Transport has dumped contact-less payment provider Snapper Services.

It says its agreement has been terminated because Snapper could not modify its system in time to integrate with another system it's contracted, HOP.

Auckland Transport says Snapper had agreed to have its equipment compliant by the November 30, but it doesn't believe it can make the deadline.

Anyone with a HOP/Snapper card can use it till they are swapped out for free next year.

Auckland Transport says the outcome brings certainty to the introduction of integrated ticketing in Auckland.
