Coasters remain in the dark over the source of, and reason for, a number of gifts from Paris that have turned up in Greymouth. The parcels began arriving this week and contain hairdryers or hair clippers and cash. Grey District mayor Tony Kokshoorn says there's a lot of talk around town about them, and a bit of jealousy from those who haven't received one. "We still feel that just someone likes the West Coast and likes the friendliness of the West Coast and they just want to look after us Coasters by sending us nice gifts." He says he wouldn't mind a piece of the action. "I've only heard of three or four but with a little luck there's another four, and with a bit of luck I'm on that list." Photo: stock.xchng |
