Horsemeat scandal a chance for NZ beef to shine

By: Grayson Ottaway | New Zealand News | Friday February 15 2013 5:05

Federated Farmers is suggesting Europe's horsemeat scandal could be a chance for traceable New Zealand beef to be marketed in the high end meat market.

Spokesman Andres Crowfoot says the new National Animal Identification and Tracing system, is an opportunity for New Zealand to show just how traceable our beef is.

He says we need to market what we've got and extract as much money back to the farmer as possible.
