A principal of a Christchurch primary school says he's glad they made the decision NOT to take part in this morning's ShakeOut Drill.
86,000 Cantabrians did sign up to the nationwide drill held at 9:26am.
Mairehau Primary School principal John Bangma says they decided not to take part to try avoid causing their students any more stress.
"We made the decision because we felt that our children, even in the last week or so when we had those after-shakes, we're still seeing those reactions from children and felt that we have enough opportunities to practice it in reality, without actually adding to it again."
