English pleased with NZ's AA credit rating

| New Zealand News | Friday August 3 2012 15:44

New announcements on the country's credit ratings are sitting well with the Minister of Finance.

Standard and Poor's has confirmed New Zealand's long term foreign currency rating at AA with a stable outlook.

Finance Minister Bill English says it's welcome news, a sign we're heading in the right direction, and an indication we're better placed than many other countries.

However Standard and Poor's has highlighted New Zealand's high level of private sector debt as a concern.
