Mallard wants to know the official record

Labour MP Trevor Mallard wants to know just what the official police record says about former police officer Bruce Hutton - the detective accused of planting evidence in the Arthur Allan Thomas case.

The Hutt South MP stormed out of a select committee today after government MPs refused to let him ask questions of Deputy Police Commissioner Mike Bush about comments he made at Mr Hutton's funeral.

Police Minister Anne Tolley has accused Mr Mallard of bullying and destroy his career.

Mr Mallard denies that. "I don't think anyone needs to go at all. I think what needs to happen is the police need to asses their judgement when referring to Royal Commission results"
