Auckland's cycling action group is applauding the judge who threw out charges against a car driver accused of causing the death of a cyclist.
British nurse Jane Bishop died when she was hit by a truck as she swerved to avoid Glenn Becker's open car door.
Cycling Action's Barbara Cuthbert says it's the right decision, as Glenn Becker was just a fall guy who had done nothing wrong.
"All he did was park in a parking space in a perfectly legal position close to the curb, but you have to recognise that the parking space should never have been there," says Ms Cuthbert.
Barbara Cuthbert says they had identified the parking spot as a pinch-point hazard, but no-one did anything about it until after Jane Bishop's death.
