Air NZ keen to see passport-free travel

By: Blair Cunningham | New Zealand News | Tuesday April 24 2012 17:14

Air New Zealand's keen to see passport-free travel across the Tasman take off.

Australia's Tourism and Transport Forum has suggested the idea, which could drastically cut travel times and slash airfares between the two countries.

Air New Zealand deputy CEO Norm Thompson says this could be great for tourism and make New Zealand even more of an appealing destination to those across the ditch.

The national carrier says it's always a strong supporter of anything that will decrease the time it takes for people to be processed through immigration.
