Pelorus, crash survivors in Wairau Hospital

The two women who survived a horrific crash at Pelorus remain in Blenheim's Wairau Hospital in a stable condition.

Two men, one from Germany and one from France, died in the collision between a ute and car yesterday afternoon.

A Marlborough woman who was driving the ute has a broken ankle and is to undergo surgery.

A Germany woman who was in the other vehicle has a broken collarbone.

She has told police she'd only recently met the two tourists killed and they were just sharing a ride.

Police are also planning on speaking to the injured Marlborough woman.
