Efforts are being made to recover Job Op's money owed by employers who signed up to the scheme.
Parliamentary papers show 477 employers owe over $800,000 to the Ministry of Social Development.
The debt is for repayment of wage subsidies they received to provide jobs to young workers, the workers involved had their jobs terminated meaning the employers have to repay the $500 subsidy they were given.
According to the papers, the debts end up being referred to Crown Revenue if repayment's not made to the ministry within 30 days.
