War vets call for apology over medals

By: Newstalk ZB staff | New Zealand News | Wednesday April 18 2012 16:02

Vietnam war veterans are calling for an apology from an Otaki man who wore war medals he wasn't entitled to.

Former RSA president Don Moselen pleaded guilty this morning to unlawfully wearing three medals at ANZAC services from 2007 to last year.

But Vietnam veteran Harry Ellison says the guilty plea doesn't go far enough.

"Pleading guilty is not going to make it right, perhaps the apology might be better later, if there is ever one."

Mr Moselen will reappear in court next month to defend another charge of unlawfully using an RSA cheque.
