Paul Holmes to have open heart surgery

Newstalk ZB host Paul Holmes is upbeat about a major operation he'll undergo this week.

It follows an unsuccessful standard heart procedure on Friday.

The broadcaster will now have open heart surgery on Wednesday, which will put him out of action for two to three months.

Until then, Holmes is in hospital.
