AOS called to domestic incident in Invercargill

By: Bruce Russell | New Zealand News | Saturday August 11 2012 21:12

The Armed Offenders Squad was called out in Invercargill around five o'clock this afternoon, to a domestic incident in Wilfrid Street.

Police say a distraction device was used before squad members entered the house, and was heard by neighbours.

Police say a loaded firearm was found at the address, and following further inquiries a 40-year-old man was found at a Mary Street address by the AOS and taken into custody.

He'll appear in the Invercargill District Court on Monday facing a number of charges.

No one was injured in the incident.
