ERA refers Affco, Meat Workers Union to mediation

| New Zealand News | Wednesday May 2 2012 12:33

The Employment Relations Authority will be facilitating bargaining in the Affco dispute.

It's accepted a Meat Worker's Union application for facilitated bargaining.

The Authority has found there is acrimony between the parties but has not yet set a date for the bargaining.

Union general secretary Dave Eastlake is welcoming the latest development.

He says the workers were given false hope that the company's plan to partially lift the lockout would end the dispute.
