Govt announces $60m boost for war vets

A boost for war veterans, with the Government announcing $60 million will be spent on improving the support given to those who have served our country.

The Prime Minister's announced a new package at the RSA National Council in Wellington.

The money will be spent over five years and include increasing the war pension and surviving spouse rates by five percent, increasing eligibility for services such as home help and a new veterans' weekly income compensation for those under the age of retirement and unable to work.
