There's a lesson for people to ensure their drains are kept clear. The Fire Service in Tauranga attended nearly 20 calls in just two and a half hours last night. Station Officer Len Sabin says the weather bomb tied up seven trucks, going from call to call. He says all of them were due to blocked drains and gutters. Mr Sabin says at this time of year people need to make sure gutters and drain pipes are checked, and other general drainage is maintained. Photo: stock.xchng |
