Workers reminded of threat to their rights

One of the country's main unions is using Labour Day to remind workers of the threat to some of their rights.

FIRST Union's Robert Reid says today should be about celebrating gains which have been made for workers, like sick pay and bereavement leave.

But he says it's only days since the Government revealed plans to cut pay for younger workers.

Mr Reid says before Christmas the Government is also expected to introduce legislation which will weaken collective bargaining.
