Power back on after milk truck crash

By: Nina Burton | New Zealand News | Saturday October 20 2012 12:34

Power has been restored to all 150 Southland homes affected by an outage this morning.

A Fonterra milk tanker crashed into a power pole in Mautaura, early this morning, cutting power to nearby residents.

Up to 15,000 litres of milk was lost as a result of the crash.

Most drained into the Mataura River, swollen by heavy rain so the milk diluted quickly.
