Police are pleading with drivers to take extra care on the drive home from holiday spots today. There have been seven deaths on the roads over the weekend, including four farm hands who died in northern Hawke's Bay when their vehicle crashed through a fence. There were also fatal smashes in Taranaki, central Hawke's Bay, and Canterbury. Police say people should beware of fatigue and take a break, a stop or a power nap when they need to. They're also stressing the importance of driving to the conditions and wearing seatbelts. Photo: NZ Herald |
