Steel and Tube strikes could continue

Share |

New Zealand News | Wednesday March 19 2014 15:09

Targeted strike action looks set to continue for Steel and Tube workers at sites throughout the country as they fight for their demands to be heard.

The workers, who are represented by EMPU, claim the company is insisting on removing days and hours of work provisions and paying workers a flat rate for all hours worked.

EMPU organiser Steve Westoby says the workers just want to be dealt with in a reasonable manner.

He says strike action will continue until Steel and Tube drops its unrealistic demands and negotiates with workers constructively.
