Wainuiomata cat survives crossbow through head

Related

A Wainuiomata cat has survived having a crossbow bolt lodged through his head.

Four-year-old Moomoo's owner Donna Ferari saw him cowering in bushes yesterday afternoon with what looked like an arrow through his head.

She called police and took him to the local vet, who told her they had never seen anything like it, and referred her to the Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

The bolt was removed, and vets say Moomoo was extraordinarily lucky as the bolt didn't impact brain tissue at all.

The cat is reported as being bright and happy today, but his owner is outraged, and hopes whoever shot the cat will be found, or feel enough hatred from the community to never do such a thing again.
