A Massey University study is set to investigate the impact long hours of rigorous indoor training has on a ballerina's body. Researchers at the Albany campus want 100 Auckland -based ballerinas for their study on the role vitamin D has in dancers' health. Masters student Sarah Mitchell says ballerinas often don't get enough vitamin D as they spend little time outdoors, and their diets are restricted. "Vitamin D's a hot topic right now, it's being linked to various things including depression, colds and flu's and now muscle strength."
