Skiers and snowboarders are lapping up the best conditions they've seen for several years. Mt Ruapehu's Dave Mazey says the past week's snow has made a big difference to the base. He's confident the season will run for some time yet. "We'll definitely go through to the end of October, probably Labour Day is guaranteed, and we make a decision sometime later in September as to whether we would extend the season by another three or four weeks, at Turoa probably into November." Ladies' Week starts tomorrow, and the Mt Ruapehu Xtreme competition begins on September 10. Photo: NZ Herald |
