Court rules in favour of Petrobras

By: Sam Thompson | New Zealand News | Saturday June 23 2012 6:49

Greenpeace is disappointed its court action to stop Petrobras exploring for oil off the East Cape has failed.

The court has ruled it will not quash exploration permits which have been granted to Petrobras.

Greenpeace says it's possible there'll be an appeal.

It says exploratory deep sea drilling carries the risk of a catastrophic failure, such as in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.
