By: Rachel Sturges | New Zealand News | Monday June 4 2012 11:32

Four men killed in a crash near Putorino in northern Hawke's Bay on Friday night have been named.

They were Lou Phillip Wesley, 47, and James Raupita, 42, both of Waihua, and Paul Thomas Parata, known as Boydie, aged 48, and Jack Huata, 64, both of Raupunga.

Police are continuing their investigation into the crash and when it occurred.

The men had been drinking at a local pub prior to the crash and their vehicle was found next morning.

Anyone who saw the green-grey Mitsubishi Pajero four-wheel-drive in the Putorino-Raupunga area on Friday night should contact Napier police.

Meanwhile police have released the name of a woman struck by a car and killed on State Highway Two at Otane in central Hawke's Bay on Saturday evening.

She was 67-year-old Gail Annette Hansen of Hastings.

The weekend road toll stands at seven.
