GE Free NZ concerned at Scion's security

| New Zealand News | Friday April 13 2012 19:01

GE Free New Zealand's using the vandalism attack on Scion's genetically modified pine tree trials, to support its cause.

Police are investigating the attack which saw close to 400 of the radiata pine trees chopped down over Easter weekend.

GE Free Spokesperson Jon Carapiet says the attacks show why Scion should have 24-hour security and surveillance of the field area.

He says ultimately the risk is pollen escaping and resulting in the contamination of our forests.
