Prime Minister Julia Gillard has managed to attract a lot of support for a change after a cattle company CEO called her an old cow. Australian Agricultural Company chief executive David Farley triggered the controversy after he was reported to have made the remarks at a speech in Adelaide on Thursday. During his speech Mr Farley had been explaining his business plan for a new abattoir designed to process old cows, and warned the PM she'd better watch out. Federal Minister for Women Julie Collins says the comments are appalling and unacceptable and those who laughed at the comment need to take a long hard look at themselves. Photo: Getty Images |
