Former Israeli PM shows brain activity while in coma

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has shown significant brain activity, seven years after he suffered a stroke.

The Daily Mail reports an MRI scan showed him displaying a degree of consciousness, even though he remains in a deep coma.

Doctors say he responded to pictures of his family and recordings of his son's voice.

Ariel Sharon has been in a vegetative state since 2006.
