| International News | Monday May 7 2012 20:00

More Kiwi military observers could be sent to war torn Syria.

Currently two defence force personnel have been temporarily deployed by out Government to the United Nations' supervision mission in Syria.

Foreign Minister Murray McCully says the Government's offering to send extra military observers and is prepared to send five more personnel to replace the two currently on the ground.

He's also announced $1 million is to be given to the UN's High Commissioner for refugees, to help the more than 30 thousand Syrians who've fled to Turkey.
