North Korea plans nuclear and rocket testing

By: Newstalk ZB staff | International News | Friday January 25 2013 6:56

North Korea has announced plans for a nuclear test and more long range rocket launches.

CNN reports that it's a reaction to this week's condemnation for its actions by the United Nations.

UN secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon is urging the nation to focus its priorities on helping their people's welfare and prosperity, rather than spending their limited resources developing missiles.

"We will continue to urge them collectively, in the name of the United Nations, not to provoke any provocative measures, including additional nuclear weapon tests, or rocket launching."

North Korea has declared the US a sworn enemy of the people, and says it will aim its rockets there.
