By: Newstalk ZB staff | International News | Saturday May 12 2012 6:20

The woman at the centre of the News of the World phone hacking scandal has revealed close friendships with senior politicians.

Sky News is reporting Rebekah Brooks has told inquiry into Britain's media she often met Prime Minister David Cameron socially.

He'd also text her at the time she was running Rupert Murdoch's papers in the UK.

"He would sign them off at 'DC' in the main. Occasionally he would sign them off, 'LoL' - lot's of love, actually until I told him it meant laugh out loud."
