Town introduces parks for women

| International News | Friday July 13 2012 8:48

The mayor of a small German town has sparked controversy by introducing easy access parks - just for women.

The scheme's been introduced by the mayor in the southern town of Triberg, because he claims women are worse parkers than men.

The parks are reported to be wider and better lit than in other parking areas, making them easier to manoeuvre in and out of.

They're also marked with a female symbol, and aren't next to any concrete pillars.

Auckland Transport spokesman Wally Thomas says there's no way any such parking policy will be introduced in the city.
