A Tongan immigration adviser has been struck off for "serious dishonesty". A tribunal has found Alungamonu Tangilanu pocketed clients' funds without lodging their visa applications. She told one client her secretary had stolen his money and lied to another, saying her visa applications had been submitted. Tangilanu's been ordered to refund $2,500 and must also pay $8,000 in penalties. She can't reapply for an immigration adviser's licence for two years. Photo: Stockxchng |
